eLearning and Corporate Compliance

eLearning, Employee Training, and Compliance

My approach to eLearning is to put myself in the listener’s chair: if I were the student or employee, what pacing, energy level, and vocal choices would keep me interested, keep me learning? I focus on staying relaxed, easygoing, and friendly - while ensuring the key information is highlighted in a clear and straightforward manner.

Keeping it fresh is vital. Have you ever been bored into a stupor by educational narration that droned on, or got locked into a sing-song pitch pattern, or just felt dry as the Sahara? I don’t give you that. If I find myself getting at all bored in the booth, I know the listener will be too. Each sentence is a new idea, and I enjoy discovering them.

OK, Compliance: This subset of the narration world is one you’ve probably encountered again and again if you work in a traditional office. Businesses, corporations, health care companies, and educational institutions large and small are required to provide training on various topics. I use a vocal style ranging from serious and professional to more easygoing and engaging, depending on that particular client’s preferred tone and the subject matter of the material. Here’s a sampling of the topics for which I have narrated programs:
