Business Branding and Explainers

Internet Videos: Branding and Explainers for Businesses

Let’s say you’re launching a new business, and need eyes on your new product. Perhaps you’re rebranding an old business, launching a new way to make an existing product relevant. Maybe you have a great idea for a book promo but a TV budget is out of reach. Perhaps you’re hoping to spread the word about a charity all across social media. Easiest thing to do? Create a video that will live on your website, on YouTube, and on your social channels.

Branding videos can be short and to-the-point - 15 seconds, 30 seconds - just like broadcast commercials. On the other hand, the internet allows for much more flexibility than TV. You’ve probably seen some gorgeous examples of branding videos that have been shot like short films - 3 minutes or longer, with high-profile actors and soaring cinematography. Other very effective branding videos are shot on iPhones and look raw, spontaneous, and of-the-moment.

Explainers are a way to, you know, explain what’s being offered. Could be a demo of the functionality of business software, perhaps a walkthrough of a company’s new benefits program, a step-by-step comparison of two products. The key? An easygoing voice that makes it all sound straightforward and simple.
